How long is the Drive to laguna seca?
It really depends. The drive is 450 miles from San Diego. Depending on what time you leave, and what time you go through LA will make a significant difference as to how long it takes.

My favorite track before I got to Sears Point 11/22-11/23/08. I am consistent with the BMW at Laguna 1:45 range. Best lap of 1:44.21. 59 degrees, overcast, 78% humidity. Here is a photo of "Corkscrew Twist" pulling the right front off the ground.

Sears is much more technical than Laguna. I also fear it more because of the close proximity of walls and little runoff. I believe that the more speed that you have at Laguna than me, that it will only be a matter of time before you know Sears really well and begin to post a time much faster than me there as well.

Thanks, John. I really think I can break the 1:52 mark tomorrow, unless my engine doesn't perform well. But it's supposed to be quite cool, only a high of 72, so there should not be any heat problems. I bought some new Cobalt Racing racing brakes, different from the ones I had last year, so my braking will be better than it was in April. I think the better brakes and the different line I ran last event, I should see low to mid 1:51's because all of my corner speeds were higher than last year. Hoping my tires have enough life in them too. The rears are pretty much done after this day.
When are you going to come with us again? Maybe Sears Point in November?

I have not done a day in over a year that has not ended after the first 2 laps. I will need to do some good days before I venture out further from home.

What an incredible day. We had probably the best track conditions I have ever seen. First session at 9 AM, I did 2 laps at 1:50.7. I did a bunch of 1:51's like I thought I would. Then we all went out for the last session to play around and I did a 1:50.6, then a 1:50.3, and then a 1:49.9. As soon as I got that time, I let up and coasted around for 2 or 3 laps. That was the best I was going to get. I'll post my laptimes soon.
