CFRA is a non-profit, members only organization that offers track days at Thunderhill, Infineon, Laguna Seca, Buttonwillow, and Reno-Fernley.
Their prices are much better than any organization out there, even Leadfoot's pricing. CFRA is not for novice groups though. They have less restrictive passing rules and the "B" group is fast and is closer to a high intermediate of any other organization. You must have very good track awareness to run with them. Running only 3 groups, they are very generous with track time. An example is the Buttonwillow event I attended in April in which I was charged $175 for 5 30-minute sessions.
Their Sears Point event next Sunday (Nov 18) is only $175. In contrast, Trackmasters was charging around $335 for their last SP event from what I remember (what a rip-off!).
In order to attend a day with CFRA, you must be a guest of a member. Guests are offered a membership if there are no complaints about any of the guest drivers. Current 2008 membership is $55. Guests pay about $20 more per event than members. Members have the chance to sign up for any event before it's opened to guests to ensure all members have the first shot of getting in. If anyone is interested n being a guest of mine in the future, please contact me.

Well Vinny, you know you can always put Perry at the top of that list. But I guess, after the first invite, he's allowed to join, you'll be able to spread the wealth.

So why/how can they run Sears for so cheap? I don't really expect an answer. I'm just throwing the question out there.

They did so well at other events throughout the year that they were able to price SP lower. The president already stated in newsletter emails that they are losing money on this event and will probably be the last time we'll see this kind of price again.

Well, you'll be there next Sunday, so you'll get a glimpse of what the club and pace are like.

CFRA just mentioned in their issues list for maybe a need for a forum to discuss things. I offered a section here if they were interested.

I think the vote decided to stay on email instead of forum. Kinda sucks because members can receive all kinds of email on issues that don't affect them. Oh well.
